Technical Writer Engineering - Contractor

Highly motivated individual focused on working with discipline experts to write and maintain test procedures and other design control documents so this information can be easily understood by people across the company.   We are looking for candidates who are creative, energetic team players who excel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.


Responsibilities:



  • Work with discipline experts to understand technical details of requirements, risks, and tests, and other technical information that needs to be documented/communicated

  • Draft test procedures, protocols, and profiles

  • Write operation, calibration and maintenance procedures for test equipment

  • Support discipline leads with the following test-related activities as needed



  • Write test plans

  • Procure test materials

  • Collect data & document results

  • Write test reports



  • Participate in the documentation, maintenance, and approval of other design control deliverables in accordance with our procedures, including



  • Requirement development

  • Test plans, protocols, and reports

  • Contribute toward the drafting of Design Gate and KPI presentations


Qualifications:



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical writing, project engineering, or technical project management role

  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information in an a clear, concise, and user-friendly manner

  • Experience with electro/mechanical hardware and software components preferred; Experience with optics a huge plus

  • Excellent  organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

  • Excellent analytical skills, good attention to detail, and ability to follow issues through resolution

  • Dynamic and “can do” attitude with the desire to work with a great team and product. Ability to manage & complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must be confident in a highly dynamic and creative environment





 Education:






  • 2- 3 years education on a path to achieving a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
